Information received from Devon County Council Highways about their planned surface dressing programme which will take place between May and September 2026:
As part of our annual maintenance programmes, we will be undertaking surface dressing in Chudleigh & Teign Valley Division . Our Contractor, Kiely Bros, will deliver leaflets with more details to residents a few days prior to the start of works.
The sites for 2026 are:
- B3212 Farrants Hill, Dunsford
- Church Hill, Tedburn St. Mary
- Road past Slonscombe Farm, Moretonhampstead
- B3344 Station Hill, Chudleigh
- B3344 Millstream Meadow to A38 off-slip, Chudleigh
- B3193 Teign House Inn to Bridford Bridge junction, Bridford
To ensure the safety of road users and our workforce, traffic management measures – including road closures and temporary parking restrictions – will be in place. There may be short periods of restricted access to properties and motorists are advised to allow extra time for travel.
We aim to place signage out at least 7 days before planned work begins, and we will letter-drop residents and businesses directly impacted by the works a few days beforehand.
Most sites are completed within one day. Larger sites may take up to three days. A five day ‘weather window’ is displayed on signs to allow flexibility with planned dates in case of wet weather as the materials require dry road surfaces before they can be laid.
