Your local Neighbourhood Team will be at CHRISTOW at The Bus Stop, by The Christow Community Shop, Village Road Christow EX6 7WA on 15th October 2025 at 7pm-8pm.

Please take this opportunity to raise any concerns you may have and to find out what the Police are doing to tackle the issues that matter to you.

Roadworks at Steps Bridge update

We have been informed by Devon County Council Highways that they are currently in the process of rescheduling the repair work at Steps Bridge, Dunsford Woods.

The scope of the works will include two phases of road closures:

Phase 1 – Preliminary works – vegetation clearance and tree cutting.

This phase is scheduled to commence at the end of October and will last for up to two weeks, from Monday 20th October to 10th November 2025.

Phase 2 – Main works – carriageway stabilisation and the reinstatement of safety barriers.

The work is scheduled for early next year, starting from Monday 5th January 2026 and is expected to last for 16 weeks.

Bus service changes

One change that affects the bus service to Bridford is a change to the bus stop for buses departing from Exeter, as per the details below:

  • 360: Exeter – Ide – Christow – Bridford (Stagecoach)
  • The Exeter City Centre terminus moves to Cheeke Street, departing from Stop 22.

Annual Public Health report

Devon County Council have published their latest Annual Public Health report.

An Annual Public Health Report (APHR) is a comprehensive document produced by the Director of Public Health for a local authority. It provides an overview of the health status of the local population, highlights key health issues, and outlines public health priorities and actions taken over the past year. The APHR is a statutory requirement and Directors of Public Health and mandated to produce these reports annually as part of their professional responsibilities. 

The APHR report aims to inform stakeholders, including policymakers, healthcare providers, and the public, about the health challenges and progress within the community.

Dartmoor Devil cycle ride 26th October 2025

We have been informed that the annual Dartmoor Devil cycle ride will pass through the parish on Sunday 26th October.

There will be a total of no more than 200 riders on the event and they should be very well spread out to prevent bunching.

Riders leave Bovey Tracey in two groups, at 8am and 9am, and will follow the route on the map below. The first riders are likely to enter the parish at about 9.25am and the last of the riders is expected to have cleared the parish by 12.15pm or so.
