Gritting Update – Thurs 31 Dec

Met Office ice warning out until tomorrow morning and Highways are going out no fewer than three times on the Primary Routes – including those to the vaccination centres apparently. Our route has just been done for us by Jarrod and Dave, putting no fewer than 14 bags down. Thank you both for venturing out on New Year’s Eve , much appreciated. A Happier New Year everyone! Gritting Update – Wed 30 Dec

Our grateful thanks to Jarrod and Dave who’ve just gritted the hill for us.
Although we’ve had some very welcome new volunteers we do still need more who could drive and tow the gritter. Tonight’s gritting almost didn’t take place. Please contact the Parish Clerk if you are able to help.

Gritting Update – Thurs 24 Dec

I’m afraid that we’ve been unable to grit the hill tonight because no one is available- we really do need more volunteers. It will be cold and icy so do please take care. >

Gritting Update – Mon 7 Dec

Highways activated gritting of Secondary Routes today so the hill was done by them during the day. We’ve checked it tonight and it doesn’t need us to go out again. A heavier spread than usual was also put on last night so that is still having an effect. Anne

Gritting Update – Sun 6 Dec

Matt and Colin have been out tonight and gritted the hill for us so grateful thanks to them for doing this.
We would still like to have a few more volunteers to help out, the team is not large and a few more would enable us to spread the load a bit more. People just aren’t available every time. You go out as a team of two, the driver now only needs a vehicle with a tow bar to take part. Please contact the Parish Clerk if you could help.
