A warm and deeply felt thank you for the many cards, emails and letters I have received from Bridford, Christow and other Teign Valley villagers. We enjoyed many happy years in Bridford and our leaving for health and family convenience was a great wrench. Ted’s diagnosis and more recent events have proved it to have been a wise move. It is comforting to know that many of Ted’s qualities are still remembered. He had a tendency to dismiss his own achievements in life as ‘luck’ whilst remaining true to his conviction that we should all, in our own small ways, try to make the world a better, fairer place for everyone. He appreciated the active, community spirit of Bridford and would have been chuffed but slightly embarrassed at being remembered.
I am fortunate in having a wonderfully supportive family but when ‘normality’, resumes will happily put on the kettle for visitors.
Thank you and best wishes, Annette.
We are sad that, after so many years of service to the community in the preparation of Unity magazine, Rose has decided to step down as editor. Safety considerations during this time of Covid-19
have made the delivery of the print magazine difficult but it was good that the online edition of Unity in May was so well received.
A new editor is needed to continue Unity in June for the July edition and beyond – we are looking for a volunteer (or a team of volunteers!) to take on this important role: bringing together the
communities and churches of Ashton, Bridford, and Christow in Unity.
In the first instance, please contact Steve Cook, the Churches’ Administrator, on 01392 832332 or [email protected] , and he will then pass on the necessary details.
The June edition of Unity will be printed and delivered as usual.
If you are a distributor of Unity and would prefer not to deliver at this time please let the editor know on the usual email address (unity2magazine@btinternet.com ) and alternative arrangements can be made.
