Andy and Dom have been out on a very cold night to grit the hill so thank you to both of them, it’s chilly work! In view of the forecast prolonged freeze, Highways will be doing the Secondary Routes at some point in the morning. Anne Mayes

The Team has been out for the 5th night in a row, hopefully a chance for a rest after this. Tonight Matt and Colin were out to grit the hill and we thank them both. Anne Mayes

Immense gratitude to Jarrod and Andy who’ve ventured out in this freezing weather to grit the hill. We’re forecast a deep frost so please take it very carefully and bear in mind that, in places, the run off is such that there will be no grit left. Anne Mayes

Andy and Nige have been out tonight to do the hill, thank you to both of them. There was still a fair covering of grit at the top from the Secondary Route gritting earlier but the lower half is very wet and despite being gritted now is likely to be tricky still as it continues to freeze. Anne Mayes

Jarrod and Dave have been out tonight to do the hill, thank you to both of them. It’s very wet still with a lot of run off, but there are Met Office snow and ice yellow warnings out so again, take it carefully the grit may get washed off in places.
The Secondary Routes are supposed to be being done tomorrow morning which should help. Anne Mayes

Mike kindly repaired the gritter for us and Matt and Colin took it out tonight to grit the hill. We thank all three for their efforts, gratefully received. A word of warning though, there’s a lot of running water still near the bottom of the hill, this will, unfortunately, wash most of the grit away, so take it easy! Anne Mayes

Our regular drivers were unable to go out tonight but we were saved at the last moment by Andy with a tow bar who went out with Mick to grit the hill and we thank both of them. Unfortunately there were problems with the gritter so we’ll have to try and sort that out. Anne Mayes
