Bridford Parish Council news September 2025

New Councillors 

We were delighted to have two candidates come forward to apply for co-option for the role of Councillor in August. The Council has unanimously agreed to co-opt both candidates and they will be taking up their roles in October. More details to follow after they have signed the declaration of acceptance of office.

Allotment judging results

Many thanks to Jonathan Beer who kindly judged the allotments for us this year. He said he was very impressed with all the allotments, which were anonymized. This year’s winners are Judy Topley and Ian Lucraft; congratulations to them both.

Your Local Neighbourhood Police Team will be at CHRISTOW at The Bus Stop by The Christow Community Shop, Village Road,  Christow on 17th September 25 at 2pm- 3pm.

Bridford Parish Council News July 2025

Gov.uk domain 

The Parish Council has agreed that the Clerk’s email address will be moving over to a gov.uk domain to make it more official, secure and compliant with the latest requirements. This is a free service provided by Parish Online. It will take place over the coming weeks and should be in place by September. We will notify you of the new email address in due course.

Speeding

Parishioners have started a speed watch campaign in the village after several recent speeding incidents and concerns for the safety of those walking around the village. The Parish Council is supporting a petition to campaign for a 20mph speed limit zone within Bridford. Teignbridge District Council: devolution – have your say

Teignbridge District Council (TDC) have organised drop in sessions and a survey regarding devolution and local government reorganisation

TDC  invite you to attend one of eleven drop-in sessions taking place across the district this July and complete our online survey.

The aim is to listen carefully, gather evidence, and ensure that any proposals reflect the views and priorities of local communities. We encourage everyone to take part, share their views, and help us understand what matters most to the people of Teignbridge.

The friendly and informal drop-in sessions are taking place across this district this July which will give you the opportunity to ask questions, hear more about the Local Government Reorganisation, and share your views:

Local Police meeting 22nd July 2025

Your local policing team is holding a “Talk With Your Local Police Team” meeting. This will take place on 22nd July 2025 at The Bus Shelter, by The Community Shop, Village Road, Christow, EX6 7NA between the hours of 1100-1200.

Please come along as this is your opportunity to speak with your local officers to discuss any issues of concern to you.
